3 Things Longer than Hakeem’s Kidnapping on Empire

Remember two weeks ago when we all freaked out because Hakeem was kidnapped in the final seconds of Empire? The World Series aired in Empire‘s timeslot last week so it was a nailbiter. Welp, the Lyons found out about the kidnapping, negotiated and rescued Hakeem — within the first 11 minutes of the episode. Why would they rush through that story, which could have had several episodes to unfold? In addition to more scenes illustrating Hakeem’s distress, it would have been exciting to showcase more scenes of Cookie and Lucious joining forces to find their son and then a slower reveal of who was behind the abduction. Here are five things that take longer than that abduction storyline.
Watching the Thriller video. The long version runs a little over 13 minutes. The greatest music video of all time runs longer than Hakeem’s kidnapping and the zombies were more interesting.
We’re told it takes 15 minutes to make four perfect hard boiled eggs.
It took David Justice about 27 minutes to hate-Tweet about Halle Berry and act like a jackass on Twitter.
